Originally this Charity when created was called “nobody should starve”. After some years running and having expanded our services to various activities, in 2018 the name was changed to Aloha Cares.

It all started in 2012 as a few members, donating money regularly, so that we could buy food to help Caritas ease the needs of 60-70 families in La Campana. It has now become, thanks to your help, a wider but very rewarding task.

To begin with we worked with Leo, the Director of Caritas in La Campana, and her team and the Priest Don Eduardo. We have helped some find jobs, others we help by advising how to construct CV’s so they can apply for work. We have also introduced some people into the work-plan of the “Ayuntamiento”. As a result we have been able to reduce the number of families in need.

When the Ayuntamiento stopped helping families with their pharmacy bills we had sufficient funds to step in and help. Marisa, the owner of the pharmacy in La Campana, contributes and helps us however she can.

Where the parents could not afford what was needed, we have also been able to pay for school books and stationery for the children. Begoña, the owner of the small Book-Paper-Shop gives us special discounts.

In 2019, Aloha Golf Club gave us the opportunity to host a tournament for the first time. It was a great success and we can be proud that this tournament has become an integral part of the tournament calendar. Unfortunately, the pandemic thwarted our plans in 2020; everything was organized including many high-quality prizes, only the virus had no understanding. We very much hope that we can catch up on everything on April 10, 2021 and organize an unforgettable day.

In the meantime the work and the tasks have intensified; our top priority has always remained: we help where we can with donations in kind, no money is given to families in need. Of course, 2020 was a particular challenge. More families with children are in need because of the pandemic. Cristina has set herself the task of creating an overview of all support provided, which means that only those people who actually need it are supported. In this way we can ensure that 100% of your donations actually go to where they are urgently needed.

We are proud to be part of this great Club and it is only thanks to you we can continue carrying out this gratifying work!
